The Haass’s had purchased this 1 acre lot on the bike trail in Frisco, Colorado. The lot had spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. It was decided early on that the home would be designed with the main living area on the second floor. The reason for this would be so that views could be enjoyed from the rooms that would be occupied the most often. On top of this the upper floor was turned 45 degrees to the lower floor so that the home would accommodate a strict building envelope.
The home exterior was designed to reflect the local vernacular of old mining structures the owner and I discussed on trips to the building site. The home continues to bring enjoyment to the Haass family as they spend a majority of their free time at the home.
